Because emergencies can arise at any time, a physician is on-call
24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you need medical care when our
office is closed, simple call the office and our answering service
will record your information and immediately contact the doctor
on call.
If you a member of a managed care insurance plan, remember to call
your primary care physician before going to the emergency room
unless it is truly a life-threatening emergency.
For routine/non-urgent questions, please call our office during
normal business hours.
Medical Questions
When you call for medical advice, your questions will most likely
be addressed by our nursing staff and relayed to the physician
as needed. The nurse can help you decide whether an appointment
is needed to evaluate your problem.
We ask you patience while waiting for a return call, doctors sometimes
do not find time to answer telephone questions until late in the
afternoon. Be assured that we will make every effort to return
your call by the end of the day or first thing the following morning.
Managed Care Referrals
If you require a managed care referral, please make sure you have
received the referral from your primary care physician before making
your appointment. It is also your responsibility to make sure that
you bring with you the referral to your appointment or that it
has been faxed to our office and we have received it.
Prescription Renewals
We only fill prescriptions during normal office hours.
When possible, we ask that you call your pharmacy to request a
refill. If there are no longer any refills left the pharmacy will
contact us for an authorization. You need to contact your pharmacy
at least 1 day before your prescription runs out so that you do
not run out of medication.
Test Results
When you have blood work, x-rays, or other diagnostic testing
performed, we will call you with the results. Please be patient
and wait for our staff to call you. We may need two or more
days to receive the report and have your physician review the
result. If you don’t hear from us within a week you might
check with our office to make sure that we have received the
reports.
